In particular, our work is centered on the concept of synthetic lethality, focusing on identifying and targeting vulnerabilities specific to cancer cells. Our research spans a broad range of approaches, from applied studies using small molecules and nucleic acid therapeutics (siRNA) to fundamental studies employing fission yeast as a model system.<br><br>[Main Research Topics]<br>1. Elucidation of cell proliferation mechanisms based on synthetic lethality associated with driver gene mutations in malignant mesothelioma<br>2. Development of synthetic lethality-based anti-cancer strategies targeting cancer cell-specific vulnerabilities using small molecules and siRNA<br>3.
